The British bus building industry was given a massive boost today when Scottish manufacturer Alexander Dennis Limited (ADL) announced that it has won orders for almost 1,000 vehicles, worth £220 million, all of which will be delivered in the next 18 months.
ADL’s success is fuelled by two revolutionary new buses. The first is a ground-breaking, three-axle double deck for export markets that is lighter, more fuel efficient, easier to maintain – and can carry 135 passengers. It is known as the new generation Enviro500 and its launch is arguably the most successful of all-time, securing orders for over 530 from Hong Kong’s leading bus operators.

The stylish, new-look vehicle is lighter, more fuel-efficient and can carry 90 seated passengers. 220 of ADL’s new-look Enviro500 to go into operation in Ottawa and Toronto.
